RESILIENCE DURING COVID-19

With no doubt we all know that we are still passing through the stages of COVID-19 trauma and challenges.
This obviously has had an adverse effect on the mental health of many, especially the widows and those who are lone parents at this difficult period including the people who are going through bereavement.

However, admitting to the fact that you are suffering from mental health issues could be attached to some sort of stigma, especially in the African community. Mostly because of that, we never want to show our weaknesses therefore we pretend to be okay even when we are far from it.
Meanwhile , we all know that a problem shared is a problem half solved. It takes much strength to be open and accept our imperfections, but our mental wellbeing is very important and we don’t want to damage it.

It is time to speak out and talk about your worries. We are here to support you, connect with us. You will be happy you did.

Also, there will be an ongoing support of cultural food and essentials throughout the period of this project.

We will provide support on more information and enlightenment on COVID-19 vaccines during this project period.

This project has been funded by the National Lottery Community fund

ALLEVIATING LONELINESS AND ISOLATION

One way or the other we have all been affected by the impact of COVID-19 challenges.
The lockdown and other social restrictions is having a negative effect on our mental wellbeing.

Due to this, we will continue to provide free befriending and talk therapy services to alleviate loneliness and isolation.

Please connect with us to enjoy the free talk therapy and wellbeing services.

(Global Widows Empowerment Foundation)

This is a workshop that has been organised by Global widows empowerment foundation to discuss the various ways through which we can alleviate loneliness and isolation.

As we are aware that loneliness and isolation are a part of the public health issues that could lead to further health complications if not dealt with in a proper way.
A mental health advocate who is well experienced in the area of mental health and wellbeing will take us through this workshop and we can all share our experiences and concerns.
Looking forward to seeing you at the workshop.

Project funded by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport in partnership with The National lottery community fund.

Thanks to the Government.

CHOOSE TO CHALLENGE TRADITIONAL PRACTICES ON WIDOWHOOD

Special thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund for funding our project

HARMFUL AFRICAN TRADITIONAL PRACTICES ON WIDOWHOOD

This topic is insightful, and the project has been ongoing for the past couple of months with a conference and series of seminars.

Today we will be looking into how we can basically challenge these traditional practices which has been violating the rights and dignities of widows globally.

We have previously dealt with various topics around this subject and have gathered a lots of testimonies from the beneficiaries.
